Pregnancy Care
Pregnancy Care
At Aya Birth & Community Wellness, we provide comprehensive, midwifery-led pregnancy care for individuals and families planning to give birth at our birth center or at their local hospital through our Open Access Maternity Clinic. Regardless of where you plan to deliver, the quality, philosophy, and scope of care remain the same.
Our care is relationship-based, trauma-informed, and grounded in respect for each person’s lived experience, identity, and family structure. Pregnancy care begins with an initial visit focused on getting to know you—your health history, your goals, and what safety and support mean for you. Shared decision-making, clear communication, and trust are central to how we practice.
All prenatal visits take place at the birth center and include physical assessments, routine monitoring of you and your baby, lab work as indicated, and time for education and conversation. Visits are intentionally unhurried, allowing space to ask questions, name concerns, and make informed choices. We offer guidance around nutrition, movement, emotional well-being, and self-care, with attention to how stress, bias, and systemic barriers can impact pregnancy and birth.
Care follows a typical prenatal schedule, with visits occurring monthly in early pregnancy and increasing in frequency as you approach your due date. Referrals for ultrasounds or additional testing are made as needed. Whether you plan to give birth at the birth center or at a hospital, our goal is the same: to provide safe, affirming, evidence-based care that honors your body, your identity, and your family.
No-Cost Consultation (Birth Center Only)
For those planning to give birth at the birth center, we begin with a no-cost consultation. Midwifery care is relationship-based, and this visit is a chance to meet one another, talk through your health history and birth goals, and determine whether birth center care is a safe and appropriate option. We also review low-risk criteria and make sure we’re a good fit for each other—trust goes both ways.
Clients seeking care through our Open Access Maternity Clinic do not need a consultation and may schedule prenatal care directly.
